I hope you had a good weekend!
The devot. for today is walking in faith each day. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." "Hoped for" means: What is expected. It gives the idea of stretching or craning the neck and looking down the road for something.
Faith is when a famer plants a crop, expecting a bountiful harvest. The evidence has not grown yet, but he is hopeful and he is watching that field every day.
For us faith, and not just faith in anything but specifically in Jesus and His Word, is the foundation for the things we pray for, it's the evidence for what has not happened yet.
Faith in Jesus also very powerful to sustain us through the storms in life.
I am going to include a link to a song on faith that came to mind and also a link to Hebrews 11-the "Hall of Faith" as many call it. It shows us how Old and New Testament folks lived by faith and what the Lord accomplished in their lives because of it.
