Please allow me to ask you a personal question out of concern,
“Are You 100% Sure that You Would Go to Heaven?” If your answer is:
* "I'm a good person"
* "I haven't done anything sinful enough to send me to Hell"
* "I'm apart of a certain denomination"
* "I'm not sure"
Then please read on!
*Romans 3:23 states, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Imagine that we had a dart board
and both of us were trying to hit the center bull’s eye, which represented
God’s level of perfection. Because we
are sinners (sin is anything we think, say or do that hurts God’s heart), we
both fail to hit God’s standard of perfection.
*Romans 3:10 says, “As it is
written {which is a reference to an Old Testament, parallel passage}, there is
none righteous, no not one.”
None of us
are truly ‘good or perfect people’ and we don’t measure up to Jesus’ level of perfection.
*Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death.” As sinners we have a sin debt that deserves to paid by physical death and also being physically and spiritually separated from Jesus in hell.
*But Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth {demonstrated} his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God knew you would have to pay for your sins in hell.
God knew we would have to pay for our sins in hell, but He didn’t
want that to happen. In His sacrificial love He sent His Son, Jesus (God in the flesh) to pay our sin debt on the cross.
The blood He shed paid for the sins of
mankind and His resurrection proved that what He did was more than sufficient to
pay for our sin debt and provide us an eternal home in Heaven. And there’s nothing we can do to pay for our
ticket There since it’s already been bought and paid for by His blood and work
on the cross.
*Ephesians 2:8-9 states, “For by
grace {that’s God giving us what we do not deserve} are ye saved through
faith; {that would be in Jesus alone} and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: Not of works {what we do}, lest any man should
boast” {lest we become prideful and say that we made it to Heaven on our own
merit when Jesus Himself did all the work to get us There!}.
You
can be 100% sure of going to Heaven!
*Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever (anyone) shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
"Shall" means "for sure, definite and positive!'
The way to Heaven, according to God’s Word,
is to trust Christ and Him alone
and accept what He did for you on the cross as the payment for your sins past,
present and future.
*Romans 10:9-11
says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the
scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed {rejected}.”
Someone once said to me that
spending an eternity in Heaven or Hell is the distance of 18 inches-knowing in
our heads that we are sinners in need of the Savior, but actually accepting it
in our hearts. There are 2 parts of us
involved in this verse: our mouth and our heart. If we call out to Jesus acknowledging that
He suffered, died and resurrected for us, and we accept that with our hearts,
we will be saved from hell and spending an eternity without Him.
Jesus Himself said in John 14:6,
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by
me.” There is no way to come before
God, even in prayer, without going through Jesus. And if there was another means, path or
person by which we could get into Heaven, Jesus would have told us.
Isaiah
64:6 says, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness {our
goodness} are as filthy rags;” We can
never present our own goodness to the Lord and expect to get into Heaven. He sees our good works as dirty, filthy rags
in His holy, perfect sight. Only by
trusting Jesus and what He did for us can a place in Heaven be reserved for us.
Here’s a prayer to receive Jesus
as your personal Savior. It doesn’t
change a person’s religion-religion is man’s way of trying to please God and
make it to Heaven. But it is
establishing a personal relationship with Jesus. The prayer or words will not get you there. It’s the intent of the heart to trust that
Jesus’ death and resurrection paid your way to Heaven in full and that you are
trusting Him and Him alone as your
only way of getting to Heaven.
“Dear
Jesus, I know I’m a sinner and unable to save myself. Please forgive me of my
sin, come into my life and save me from hell. I trust You as my only way to
Heaven. I believe Your death on the cross and your resurrection was the payment
for my sin debt. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Dear Friend, if you said that prayer in your heart and meant it, according to God’s Word you have a reservation made for you in Heaven! Jesus said in John 6:47, “I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” If someone ever asked you if you are sure of Heaven, you could say “Yes, because I trusted Jesus as my way to Heaven.”
I hope that you just settled where you will spend your eternity. If so, the Lord be praised!” And if you didn't, then think seriously about what you read from God' Word, and visit the blog again.
