Devot. The Babe in Bethlehem

Dear Friends,
I hope you had a great week!   This devot. is a little out of order-I should have sent this Tuesday, but felt lead of the Lord to leave it for Friday.
The devot. gives some details that show Jesus' birth was predicted long before the actual event.  It shows us that what God's Word says is truth!
Pray you have a peaceful new year filled with God's presence and I knowing He is there!  Blessings!

The Babe in Bethlehem
“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)

This is a very remarkable prophecy, explicitly predicting that the future King of Israel would be born in the little village of Bethlehem some 700 years before He finally came. Then, to assure its fulfillment, the great Emperor Augustus had to decree a comprehensive census, compelling Joseph to take Mary with him to Bethlehem for her child to be born.

That the prophecy involves an actual birth is clear, not only from the phrase “come forth,” but also from the succeeding verse that warns God will “give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth” (v. 3). The preceding verse had also predicted that “they shall smite [this coming ruler] the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek” (v. 1), speaking of His initial rejection and execution.

But the prophecy not only foresees His birth in Bethlehem, His repudiation by His own people, and His eventual installation as King over all Israel (not merely Judah), but also that this same remarkable person was none other than God Himself! His “goings forth” had been “from everlasting.” That is, He is eternally proceeding forth from His Father. He did not become God’s Son when He was born in Bethlehem; He has been coming forth eternally.

There is still another truth implied in the Hebrew word for “goings forth.” It is also used for such things as the flowing of water from a fountain or the radiations from the sun. Thus, the never-ending flowing forth of power from God through the Son is nothing less than the sustaining energy for the whole creation, as He is “upholding all things by the word of his power” (Hebrews 1:3). And this was the Babe in Bethlehem! HMM

Devot. The Gifts of the Wise Men

Dear Friends,
I pray you had a blessed Christmas weekend!  The devot. landed in my inbox the other day and I really felt I should post it.
Do we seek Jesus as diligently as the wise men sought Jesus?  Jeremiah 29:13 says, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
Did you know, biblically, that it took the wise men a while to find Jesus?  Here is a passage that says he was a 'young child': https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew+2&version=KJV
The term 'Young child' in Bible says meant infant up to 2 years, so Jesus wasn't just born when the wise men found Him.   Not sure where it become tradition that the wise men found Him at birth......

Anyway, I also found a song I first heard a church choir perform for a Christmas performance years ago-Wise Men Still Seek Him.   As soon as I read this devot. I knew I had to find it for you to hear!
I made an impression on me all those year ago and I hope it will bless your heart as well.   Lord bless you and yours this week!

The Gifts of the Wise Men
“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.” (Matthew 2:11)

These wise men (or Magi) were of great eminence in the Parthian Empire at that time, and it is unlikely that the caravan from the East consisted of only three men. They more likely had a large entourage as they came searching for the future King of Israel, so it was small wonder that “all Jerusalem” was “troubled,” along with King Herod (Matthew 2:3). The Parthians (i.e., Persians) had never been conquered by the Romans and at that very time were posing a significant threat along the eastern boundary of the extended Roman Empire.

When they found the young child and His mother in Bethlehem, the Magi “fell down, and worshipped him” (Matthew 2:11). But why did they offer Him just three gifts—and why these three gifts? Somehow they seemed to have sensed, possibly from meditating deeply on the ancient prophecies of Balaam (Numbers 24:17), Daniel (in Daniel 9:24-26), and David concerning the priesthood order of Melchizedek (Psalm 110:4), that this young child whose birth had been announced by a star was destined not only to be the King but would also become the Messianic Sacrifice to “make reconciliation for iniquity” (see Daniel 9:24, 26) and then eventually become our eternal High Priest who “ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). Thus, the gold would acknowledge His right to reign, the frankincense would speak of the incense to be offered in the heavenly tabernacle, and the myrrh (John 19:39) would testify that His crucified body would be so anointed as it entered the tomb for a very temporary burial. Devot. God's Perspective on Christmas

Hi Folks,

Well here we are, Christmas Eve.    Where did the time go?

I hope the previous devot. was practical and helpful.  Here is a short devot. on what God thinks about Christmas:)  I have also included a song that embodies letting Christ be apart of our lives and hearts, as His mother Mary did.   Beautiful song.......

Lord's richest blessings on you this CHRISTmas weekend!

Devot. Preparing Our Hearts for Christmas

Dear Friends,
I hope you had a great weekend!
The devot. for today are some bits and pieces-some things I thought would be useful to you and others are a spiritual reminder-something to get our hearts prepared for Christmas.

Let me share The Useful first:

~Do you still have Christmas cards to send, but want to save on postage?  Send a free e-card!  LOVE this place: https://www.dayspring.com/ecards

~Last minute gifts that can be ordered online?  My family's go to for very nice gifts for all ages and needs: https://www.christianbook.com/?utm_content=%2F&utm_campaign=cbd.com&utm_source=referral
also https://www.dayspring.com/

~Or if you like to give Christian books as a gift or see a book  in cbd.com that you like, but need to save a few dollars, look here: https://www.abebooks.com/ or http://www.discoverbooks.com/

The Spiritual:

~Read Luke 2 throughout  the week, take 10 verses a day and reflect on the Christmas story.  Read it to your family on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning.  https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=+luke+2&version=KJV

~Get a manger scene and hide Jesus until Christmas morning and then bring Him out.   It emphases the True Reason of Christmas and gets everyone excited about His appearance!  My parents did this with me and now I do this with my young people in my life.   They are always looking to see if Jesus is there yet and get super excited  when they finally see Him in the manger!

~Go to a Christmas play, or Christmas Eve service at  good Bible believing church.   As a child, my family would go to various Bible or Baptist churches to see their Christmas presentations. Christmas Eve service was the climax to Christmas and it always helped us prepare our hearts.
Regardless of where you live, here is a link to find a good Bible believing church: http://www.swordofthelord.com/churches.php

~Wish folks a Merry Christmas!  Our Saviour's name is in the holiday! (Which actually means 'holy day!")

In closing and in place of a devot.:

Two weeks ago my pastor shared what The Colors of Christmas represent.  It really made in impression on my heart and mind!   I added to what he shared and also added a Scripture verse to each color.  Please look up each verse and reflect.

The Colors of Christmas:

~The White( lights) represent the Light of the World Jesus.  He is the only one who can bring light into our dark world.    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+8%3A12&version=KJV
White also represents how Jesus makes us "white as snow" (pure, clean and new) when we trust Him as Savior:  https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=+isa.+1%3A18&version=KJV
Also 2 Cor. 5:17: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Corinthians+5%3A17&version=KJV

~The Red (bows, poinsettias) represents the blood Jesus freely/willingly shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of the sins of the world and as God's means of paying our sin debt and ticket to Heaven.  https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+10%3A17-18&version=KJV

~The Green (trees) represent the growth we are to experience as we walk daily with the Lord.   https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=col.+2%3A6-7&version=KJV

I have 2 Christmas songs for this week.  The 1st song is simple and sung by children, but it hits the heart of Christmas squarely on the head!   Just like we wish to be acknowledge on our birthday, said Happy Birthday to, Jesus wishes the same thing on His birthday!

The second song I sent months ago, but wanted to re-send as it's about Christmas.    My pastor played this after his message last Sunday.   As my church listened to it you couldn't help but tear up at the significance/powerfulness of the message!   Please re-listen to it in the light of Christmas and apply it to yourself.

My pastor did change one word of the song.  Instead of 'someday' insert 'today" (We can have eternal-real life- 'Today': https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=+2+cor.+6%3A2&version=KJV)

I pray you have a blessed week leading up to Christmas!  Merry CHRISTmas from my family to yours!

Devot. Christmas Bells

Hi Folks,
I hope you had a good week!   We had snow on the ground last Sunday and I know other areas have gotten quite the boat load!   Winter is here:)

When I read the devot. for today, it spoke to my heart about the songs of Christmas, even though the article mentions very little about the Carols were sing at Christmas time.   Maybe the title reminded me of the old song "Silver Bells."
Anyway, regarding music, I play worship music before our youth group's weekly Bible lesson.   But before I do, I encourage the teens to really focus on the lyrics of the songs, and think through the meaning.   Powerful truths, for good and godliness or for bad and ungodliness, can  be contained within the sentences of a song.
My challenge to you this week is turn on Christmas carols, fill your mind with songs that embody CHRIST-mas  (that wouldn't be Frosty and Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer:)
and think through the words, meaning and what it means to your life at this Christmas season.
Even do a google search and learn a little bit about the song's history.  I love doing that because it makes the song more meaningful to me!

Here is a start for you all in that area:)   http://www.incourage.me/2013/12/history-of-christmas-carols.html
I am including a short carol along with the devot.  The name of the artist will be familiar to some folks, maybe not the younger generation though:)

Listen to the words, they are meaningful and the message strongly applies to our world today.

Lord bless you and your this weekend!

Devot. God With Us

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good week!  The devot. for today continues the theme of Baby Jesus really being God.

Jesus Himself said in John 14:6-11 that when people saw Him, they had seen God the Father.

Jesus also said in John 10:30 that He and God the Father were one.

So when you see Baby Jesus in the Manger, you are seeing God Himself in human flesh!
The devot. below is well written, gets you to think and ponder.   I hope the devot. rings a bell in your heart, as it did mine.

Lord bless you and yours this weekend.

Devot. Who Was the Babe in the Manger?

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good weekend and are staying healthy and well.

Well, we are officially into the Christmas season.  I know that it seems we have been seeing Christmas since Thanksgiving (decorations and stores advertising things).
At the same time folks at my church have been commenting that people they are running into don't seem to have the "Christmas Spirit" yet.

I know that this time of year can be more stressful than relaxing, but I'm hoping to help you all with that through the contents of the devots. :)

This one for today is looking at Who the Baby in the Manger really is.   Yes, we know He was God, but do we really think about it that hard?  Does it overwhelm our soul with wonder and awe, does it cause us to lift up praise to Him-that He was willing to come-?

I was sharing with a young child today that I know that the Baby in the manger wasn't just a baby, He was God come to us in human flesh.  Her little eye brows shot up!  She didn't know that!   Point is, do we think about it and/or think to share that with anyone who would listen?

Below is a story and link that a close friend sent me this story and video link.  The song in itself powerful, as it describes who exactly that Baby in the Manger is, but the story behind this moment,  I think, is just as powerful.    It caused me to tear up and blessed my heart.     I pray that you allow the Lord to use this story/song to touch your heart in a special way

Lord bless and keep you  and yours safe and well this week!

Devot. The Greater Purpose of Blessings

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good week.  This week went by fast for me!

This is  the last devot. of the Thanksgiving season before I move us into Christmas on Monday, looking forward to that:)

What is the purpose behind God's blessings?  Yes, it's because He wants to show us His love and mercy (God giving us what we do not deserve), but He also has an even bigger purpose, as stated in this devot.    The devot's message reminded me of the 'pay it forward' motto.

I also wanted to share two other small things with you, two links-a song about blessings and the story behind the song. Both are very powerful, and short, so please take the time to listen in the next few days.

Lord bless and keep you and yours this safe this weekend.

(Read Ps. 67 as noted in the devot. It will help to give background to the devot's message.)

Devot. Loaded with Blessings

Dear Friends,
I hope you had a peaceful and blessed week!

In the devot, today it refers to the end of the year, meaning the author of this devot. wrote it at the end of December in preparation for a new year.   But when I saw the devot. and read it, it spoke to me of Thanksgiving.

I referenced a hymn last week, Count Your Many Blessings.   I wanted to include a link that shows the rest of the verses.   It truly shows that if we count our blessings  we will be surprised at how much we have, instead of how little.

Also when I think of God's blessings, the below song comes to mind.
I heard it years ago, but it has always stuck in my mind and blessed my heart.

Pray it blesses you as well!   May the Lord bless and keep you and yours this weekend.

Devot. The Pilgrims

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving day and the last few days will be extra reminders of how the Lord has blessed you!

I found this devot. the other day and it spoke to my heart, thought it was a neat one:)

Lord bless each of you and your families this week!

Devot. Giving Thanks Beyond Our Lifetime

Hi Folks,

The devot. for today is just what I'd had on my heart.    It brings our hearts and minds back to the true essence of Thanksgiving.
When I think of the word 'Thanksgiving," I think of it backwards-Giving Thanks."  Psalm 107 implores, urges mankind 4 times through the chapter, "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" Oh that we would praise Him for how good He is to us, undeserving sinners as we are!
Last week my co-Sr. High Girls Youth Group Leader gave us a challenge to think of 1 thing every day to thank the Lord for, something we were taking for granted.  I challenge you to do the same.    It can be as simple  thanking the Lord for clean water, a hot shower, a warm house.  When you start think of how much you have been blessed
with, it diminishes what you may not have.

The old hymn, "Count Your any Blessings" says in Verse 1,
"When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done."    (Taken from http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/c/o/countyou.htm)
I leave you with 1 final thought and a song.   Consider inviting someone who does not have family to join you for Thanksgiving-an elderly neighbor, a single person, a single parent family, someone less fortunate.
Or if you are the one without family, consider going out to dinner and inviting some folks along who will be on their own.   You don't know the blessing an invite can be, even to someone you may not know well.
Pray for those who have lost loved ones as this time of year can be difficult (I'm thinking of the families of the police officers who were killed this past weekend in various US states).   Thanksgiving is a family time, but can be very painful if family is not there, so please remember folks like this in your prayers.
Last, I have included a song that embodies what our hearts should truly be thankful for.

From my family to yours, may the Lord give you His peace and presence this week and Happy Thanks Giving!

Devot. Living Above Circumstances

Hi Folks,
I hope you had a good day and will have an even better close to your week.

As I was thinking of a devot. for the weekend and searching around I came across this one; https://www.intouch.org/read/magazine/daily-devotions/living-above-circumstances  (Used by permission.   Taken from https://www.intouch.org/)

It seemed perfect to me in the face of folks still wondering and contemplating the US future.

I have also included a link song I learned as a child about God making a way, a pathway, during difficult circumstances.

Psalm 119:15 states, "Thy (God's)word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."      God's very Words give light to the spiritual or physical darkness in front of us if we read them, listen and obey.
I pray this devot. and song would uplift and encourage you this weekend!  Lord bless you!

Devot. In What Ways Has God Blessed America?

Hi Folks,
Well, it's been quite a week, hasn't it?  Today and in the weeks to come I'm going to frequently remind you that God is in control, He knows that He is doing,  He knew this was coming and He set this in motion Himself-for HIS own specific purpose and plan at this time in history.

Isaiah 55:8-9 says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
My pastor preached a sermon Sunday with the title, "GOD Trumps All!"  My pastor has a tendency to use catchy titles, alliteration to help the congregation keep important  points in mind:_)
He gave the following as His opening statement, "God's __________ Trumps All" and then asked the congregation to call out words that could fit:  God's Mercy (Grace, Power, Love, Authority, Son), Trumps All."    Pastor reminded us though his points of how many areas God controls - Human Government, Creation, the hearts of mankind...

It was amazing, comforting and encouraging to see that God sees and knows all!  Nothing escapes His eyes. (1 Pet. 3:12 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+pet.+3%3A12&version=KJV)
He also gave Proverbs 16:33 as an interesting verse to show that God does ultimately chooses who is in authority:   "The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord."
In Bible days, "the lot" was similar to casting a vote.     This verse is showing us again that that we cast forth our vote, but the whole outcome is up to the Lord.
For me, this is a comforting thought.   I may not know why my Heavenly Father does what He does, but I know He knows what He is doing:)
It is my heart's prayer that folks will turn toward having a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus, turn toward God and Godliness like we haven't seen since 9/11.
My pastor always says on 4th of July that we are declaring our INDEPENDENCE, but at the same time declaring our DEPENDANCE on GOD.  How we need that.....2 Chronicles 7:14 says that IF HIS PEPOPLE  (Those who have trusted Jesus as Saviour), will humble themselves, pray, seek his face, turn from their wicked ways,  He WILL forgive our sins, hear our prayers and heal our land.   It starts with us.....
I pray the devot. below is a comforting reminder that when we and our nation follow God in heart, mind and actions, God will bless our land!

May the Lord send you His peace and presence this weekend as only HE can (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+14%3A27&version=KJV)

November is National Adoption Month!/Free Booklet

Thanksgiving is fast approaching. Are you ready? In the midst of what can be a whirlwind time of the year, have you found the time to sit and rest? To truly feel thankful for all the Lord's blessings over the past year?
As you think of the friends and family you're especially thankful for, will you add adoptive and foster families to that list? Thank the Lord for their willingness to open their homes. Praise God for the healing children are experiencing because of their adoptive families and for futures that can be restored.
With November serving as National Adoption Month, hundreds—if not thousands—of families from around the country will finalize an adoption. Children will once again know the permanency of a family, and the gospel will be visible as God sets the lonely into families.
While we're not all called to adopt, we can certainly be thankful for those families that follow the Lord's lead to open their homes to waiting kids.
Say a special prayer for those families you know, asking for the Lord to show you specific ways that you can bring joy to adoptive families. Our free booklet "Wrapping Around Adoptive Families" has practical advice on how to express your gratitude and thanks.

Devot. Sojourners

 Dear Friends,

I hope your weekend was good.  As I was sitting here thinking, "What should I pick for a devot. that will encourage," then I found this one.
In light of the electon results, I know some are worried, scared, disappointed or apprehensive.

I want to remind you that if you have trusted Jesus, His death and resurrection as your only way of getting to Heaven, this earth is then just your temporary home.  This life and it's worries and cares are just for now, not forever.  Thank the Lord He has prepared someplace better!

He promised in John 14: 1-3, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.   And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

I have included a song link that shares this Truth very well.  As an added reminder don't forget the verses I shared earlier this week (Daniel 2:21 and Romans 13:1) that God Himself ordains, sets in place, the authorities we have.   God wishes for His purpose and will to be accomplished on this earth and He can do it through anyone He desires.   He knows what He is doing:)

I hope this devot. encourages you this week!  Lord bless you!

Sojourners
September 7, 2011

"For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding." (1 Chronicles 29:15)

All of God's people, whether ancient Israelites or latter-day Christians, need to recognize that we are mere "strangers and pilgrims on the earth" (Hebrews 11:13). This world is not our home, as the old gospel song puts it, and we must not let our roots get down too deep in this materialistic world.

The words of our text are in David's last recorded prayer before his death. He was a great king and very wealthy in material things, but he still recognized that his real home was not in the earthly Jerusalem, but in heaven.

So should we. The apostle Paul wrote, "For our conversation |the Greek word here literally means 'citizenship'| is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:20). We are merely serving in this world as "ambassadors for Christ," and our business here, representing the court of heaven, is to urge men, "in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God" (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Why should we spend so much time and money in beautifying a home on earth when Christ has gone to prepare a mansion for us in heaven (John 14:2)? Remember Abraham, who by faith "sojourned . . . in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob" (Hebrews 11:9). "But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city" (Hebrews 11:16).

Also remember Paul who had "no certain dwellingplace" (1 Corinthians 4:11), not to mention the Lord Jesus Himself who had "not where to lay his head" (Matthew 8:20). We do well, therefore, to "pass the time of |our| sojourning here in fear" (1 Peter 1:17)--that is, reverential fear of God (never fear of man), as good citizens of our heavenly country. HMM

Devot. Election Week

Hi Folks,
I hope you had a good week!
I have a few thoughts, a few Scriptures that I have reflected on this week and a song link.

I want to remind you that this election, like all others before, was in God's hands.
First, did you know that Scripture says that God "ordains" (order or decree {something} officially) those who are going to be in office? "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." (Rom. 13:1)

God's Word is urging us to be "subject", under the authority of, the powers that be.  But we are also reminded that there is truly no power other than God's power, and that the earthly powers that exist are "decreed", "ordered" by God Himself!

Daniel 2:21 states, "And he {God}  changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings:  he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:"

God can set up someone in a place of authority or  remove them Himself.   So when we vote, we make our choices known and God Himself makes the ultimate choice.

Sometimes God gives us mercy in the person He picks, other times He picks what we as a nation deserve because of  how we have turned out backs on Him and His Word.

We see this repeatedly in Old Testament history.  The nation of Israel would be doing fine spiritually, obeying God's laws and then then would fall away from Him.
God would send a prophet (a 'town crier' so to speak),  to warn the people that if they did not turn away from their sin and turn back to Him, He would have to discipline them (just as  parent does to their child who disobeys).
The people would choose to live as they were, worshipping false gods and living in sin and along would come a foreign nation, taking them into captivity and making them serve in their nation as slaves.
The people would cry out to the Lord, repent, help would be sent, they would be set free.   The would live for God for a period of time, maybe a good amount of years, and then the whole vicious  cycle would start again.

In the Old Testament, the prophets were sent to warn the people.   In the New Testament who have the Lord Jesus Christ who as spoken through His word, the Bible.  John 16: 8 says of Jesus, "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:"

Psalm  33:12 states, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord;..."  You can imagine the flipside of this.

Secondly, We are to pray for those in authority.   1 Timothy 2:1-2 says, "I exhort therefore, ( strongly encourage or urge (someone) to do something:- Oxford Dictionaries) that, first of all, supplications, prayers,  intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."

In New Testament days this referred to the Caesars that ruled.  In modern day vernacular, since we don't live under a monarchy,  it refers to those who we have in leadership today- the president, senators, congressman.

Is it tough to pray for someone you didn't want in office and didn't vote for?  Yes:)  Was it STRONGLY ENCOURAGED  in Scripture?   Yes!

What is the reason?  The reason is given in the verse, "that we may lead a quiet and peacable life in all godliness and honestly."   By our prayers for those in authority, differences can be made and we can lead a more quiet and peaceful life in Christlikeness and honesty because of it.

Scripture says that God can change the hearts of kings, (those in authority),  "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will."

There is much more on my heart that I look forward to sharing with you next week.  For now is song link that I think befit the week. The song itself has been used in presidential funerals, and national tragedies.
Keep "looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith"  (Hebrews 12:2)  and Lord bless each of you this weekend!
