Devot. Courage in the Lonely Hour

Hi Folks,

I hope you are having a good day!  I also hope that this new series is something you can relate to and the Lord
has already used to bless you.

The devot. below is a reminder that we are not really alone, even when we feel alone.   God is still with us.
The poem below the devot. link has been a favorite in my family for years and it a beautiful reminder that God is walking right beside us, even during difficult times.   Pray you are blessed by this.

Lord bless your weekend!

Devot. God Does Not Abandon His Children

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good weekend!

I am going to change devotional topics and start sharing devots.
on finding hope during discouraging, lonely times, and knowing that God has a purpose and plan for your life.

Do you have moments of loneliness, depression, discouragement, fear and even wonder if God has a plan  for your life in the midst of your pain?   We all have experienced times like these.

Recently I have seen the very real struggles folks have in these areas and I wish to offer hope from God's Word.

I look forward to sharing some devots. that have encouraged me and I pray will give you  hope in your every day life.

I pray this devot. below and the song link are a blessed, comforting reminder that God knows where you are, He sees you and understands any pain you are going through.   I hope the Lord uses this to uplift you this week!

God bless you and yours!

Devot. A Prayer for Everyone

Hi Folks,

I hope you have had a good week!

Have you ever had someone come to you with a prayer request and ask you to pray,
or felt you needed to prayer for someone, but didn't know what to pray for?

This devot. is "A Prayer for Everyone!"-general things to pray for when you don't know how to pray.

It spoke to my heart a lot and I hope the Lord uses it to speak to your heart as well.

I'm also including a song link that has become a gigantic favorite and comfort of mine in the last month.   The artist's father, Marty Goetz, is a singer as well.  His music has been a big blessing and apart of my life since I was very young.   Pray that his daughter (Misha Goetz Hoyt) and her music blesses you as well!

Lord bless you and yours this weekend!

Devot. A Balanced Prayer

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good weekend!  The dveot. for today is on having a balanced prayer life.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 states, "Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you"

Now, to "pray without ceasing" does not mean we have to be on our knees 24/7.
We have jobs and duties to  attend to in this life and God expects us to work for our living
(2 Thessalonians 3:10), but we are supposed to remain in a prayerful state though our day.

For example, lifting up prayer requests as they come to mind or having conversations with God in our hearts as we go through the day, those little hear cries that only He knows about.

Now, I would encourage you to read the short passage in red that the devot. gives right before you begin to read, as background to understand it better.   Basically it's talking about praising God for who He is (powerful, full of justice, and other traits to read about in Scripture), as you pray.

I pray that the devot. teaches you something useful this week.  Lord bless you and yours!

Devot. The Power of Prayer

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good week!

The devot. for this weekend is on the power of prayer, how amazingly powerful it is when we
lift up a prayer to the God of all creation!

I also wanted to give you the title of a book, a small book, on prayer that has recharged my mom's prayer life and simply explains how to pray and what to pray for.   It has been an absolutely amazing book and I know she would encourage you to get it because of the impact it has made on our lives as a whole.

On detail from it I will share that my mentioned to me, is that as we pray, we should have the mental picture of going before God's Throne in Heaven (Ps. 11:4, 45:6, 103:19, Matt. 5:354, 22:23, Isa. 66:1, Rev.4:1-6, 20:11) and lifting up our petitions and request to Him.

We aren't just lifting up words, we are standing in the Throne Room of the God of all!
Anyone who has trusted Jesus as their Savior and way to Heaven has access to God and an audience with the King of all Kings!

I hope that this devot. encourages your heart this weekend.   Lord bless you and yours!

Devot. The Effectiveness of Prayer

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a super weekend!

We are back to the topic of prayer.   This one shows us that PRAYER WORKS!!!

I could tell you stories of  happing's in the last few weeks of answer to prayer in my own life and within my church.    God hears our prayers!

James 5:16, "The effectual (actively praying) fervent (not giving up!) prayer of a righteous man (man or woman walks with God) availeth (produces) much."   Sometimes God answers our prayers with a yes, no or maybe.  He always answers with OUR BEST INTEREST in mind.

Jeremiah 29:11 states,  "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

I pray this devot. is an encouragement and blessing to you and that you learn something useful to your prayer life.

Lord Bless you and yours!

Devot. True Freedom

Hi Folks,

For those of you living in the US, I hope you had a relaxing day celebrating the 4th with family and friends.

The devot. below hits the spot beautifully for this 4th of July and the youtube link below
is a short video giving the true, unadulterated history behind the United States' national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner.

Last year someone I know recommended Wall Builders, as a group of folks whose desire is to preserve the stories of the history of our country, not watered down or 'tweaked' versions that maybe placed in our children's history books now.

As we celebrate the 4th, I was reminded by my pastor on Sunday that there are some areas where you can be Independent in  your life: financial, the freedom to choose, college,  job, or house.

But there is one area where we must never become independent: We must never become Independent from God.    My pastor reminded us that while we remember our INDEPENDENCE on July 4th, we must declare our DEPENDENCE on God.   When we move away from dependingg of God, we have lost much.    Jesus said in John 15:5, " for without me ye can do nothing."

I pray that the devot. is a blessing and that you learn something from it.

A special shout out to all our men and women in the military, past and present, active and retired and also to our emergency workers.   You all are true heroes and I appreciate what y'all have done and do to keep me and my family safe!  Much appreciation!

Have a very blessed week!   God Bless America and may the Lord bless and keep you and yours.
