Devot. Our Light in the Darkness

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good weekend and that each of you are safe (not living in areas effected by the hurricanes).

I've seen news articles where folks are wondering, "Where is God in all this?"  He has not abandoned anyone, He is watching and present, but I do strongly believe that He is trying to get though to the hearts and minds of those who have not trusted Him as their Lord and Savior.   He is trying to help them see their need of Him before it is truly too late.

"For whosoever (anyone!) shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved (for sure and for certain!)."  Romans 10:13

I have seen a blessing come from the storms though.   My pastor pointed out that folks are coming together regardless of political affliction or race and I think that is a Godsend-in the midst of a storm people are having compassion on each other and working to encourage each other, not tear each other down.    Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.   For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up."

There are many heroes who have immerged through the hurricanes-first responders, volunteers, everyday folks who have put their lives on the line to rescue human and animal life.    These folks are true heroes and my hat goes off to them!!!

On a somber note, keep the 9/11 families in your prayers.  Those who were lost in 9/11 and their families are heroes as well.   As a nation continues to remember, the families continue to grieve, so please keep them in your prayers.

As an added side note that I felt the Lord wanted me to include, if you know someone who is grieving/hurting (or you have experienced loss of any kind), no matter how long it has been, please check out this site: https://www.griefshare.org/
My family has experienced personal healing from loss through this faith based ministry and have seen healing in the lives of those we have been privileged to help through becoming involved in this ministry ourselves.   It is a true God send.

The devot. below is a tribute to 9/11.   A reminder that in the midst of dark times, we are not alone.   God is indeed there, in the midst of the situation, reaching out to us.

The song link I've included below has been an immense blessing to me since this summer, during times when I needed comfort and encouragement in the midst of confusion, uncertainty and turmoil.   Pray it immensely blesses and comforts your heart!

Lord bless you and yours this week!

Devot. I don't have permission to link this devot., so I will have to give it to you in a round about way.  Go to https://www.dayspring.com/ scroll all the way to the very bottom of the page.   Look for the category that says MORE and click on (in)courage.  The title you should see come up says, "Our Light in the Darkness" (our devot. for today) and was written on 9/11.
