Devot. The Crown of Fatherhood

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good weekend!

Since Sunday was Father's Day, I'm going to give you Father's Day Devot. this week and jump back to our new series on prayer next week.

I know that for some folks, Father's Day may not be easy for various reasons.  Maybe your father is no longer with you and you miss him, or he is still alive, but you don't have good relationship, or you never knew your father.
All these reasons and more can make an occasion such as this bittersweet or painful.
With this in mind, I want us all to remember some important, life changing and comforting facts:

~God is our Heavenly Father.   He is perfect in all His ways (Ps. 18:30~https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ps.+18%3A30&version=KJV)

~He disciplines us out of love-He loved us enough, even while seeing us in our sinful state, to send Jesus to pay for our ticket to Heaven in full by His death and resurrection (Romans 5:8~https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=rom.+5%3A6-10&version=KJV)

~He is preparing a Home in Heaven for those who have trusted Jesus alone for salvation and we are called one of His children by faith in Him.

~We are adopted into God's family!  Galatians 3:26 says, "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."

~He will never leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5-6~ https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=heb.+13%3A5-6&version=KJV)

~He is a father to the fatherless (Ps.68:5-~https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ps.+68%3A5&version=KJV)

~He promises to take care of us when our earthly parents are no longer here (Ps. 27:10)

My mom once said to me that it was easy for her to come to faith in Jesus and see Him as a loving Heavenly Father, because her own father was so kind, loving and gentle.

If your own father was not like this, it may be hard for you to wrap your mind around God being any different.   But He is.  And descriptions of His character is seen throughout Scripture as being wise, just in discipline, faithful and constant, a provider to those in need and much more.

I pray you will give that some thought and I will be praying for you.

The devot. below I think can apply to anyone, not just dads.
How do we pass along godliness to the next generation?

I have also included a song link below that describes many of the character traits of God that I listed above.    This songs background is based off of Scripture as well.

Pray it blesses your week and that the Lord keeps you and yours this week.
