Devot. Remembering Holy Week

Hi Folks,

I hoe you have had a blessed week!  Here we are at Good Friday.

I've had folks wonder at times, "Why do we call this Good Friday?"

The day Christ Jesus died was a physically and spiritually horribly painful day for Him as the sins of the world were laid on Him and paid for through HIs death. "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:  (Christ-likeness, Godliness) by whose stripes ye were healed."

But it was a GOOD DAY for sinful man!  Jesus made a way for each person to inherit Heaven through His death, resurrection ad accepting Him as Savior!
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.   For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed(rejected)."   Romans 10:9-13

Below is our devot. for this weekend, truly remembering and reflecting on this week, a "Good Friday" song.

I also want to give a parting reminder that while Easter Sunday and April's Fools Day fall on the same day, keep your perspective folks.   The following passage explains that if Christ did not rise from the dead, our faith would be in vain and those who have trusted Christ and died,
would not have the hope of eternity in Heaven either.    Jesus' resurrection is paramount to us spending eternity with Him!  We have assurance that we will be in Heaven with Him, because He rose from the grave and we have personally trusted Him!   Praise Him for that!  https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+cor.+15%3A12-22&version=KJV

I pray for the Lord's richest blessings on you and your family this Holy Weekend.

Devot. The Blood of Eternal Hope

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a great weekend!

This week is Holy Week.  It's a week to set aside, contemplate, remember and reflect on what the Lord Jesus has done for us.

I would really encourage you to  go to a Good Friday Service to a Passion Play (a play that depicts the life, earth and resurrection of Christ).

My pastor made an interesting comment during his Sunday's message.    He said that many folks will attend Good Friday or Easter services, but never really know Jesus or have an accurate knowledge of God.    And in my own words I will add that they know Jesus died and rose again, but they do not know that He did that for them personally, that they must  trust Him as their way to go to Heaven in order to get to Heaven.

Many churches do not share this last vital piece of advice.   Jesus died and rose again FOR YOU and you must  accept Him what He did for you in order to gain Heaven.

With that in mind, I'm going to encourage you to find a good Bible believing church to go to this Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.  Below is a link that gives a list of very good churches across America and even overseas.

I also have a link for a Passion Play I have found and have enjoyed watching in previous years.

Below is also our devot. The Blood of Eternal Hope which shows that Jesus blood is what gives us access to Heaven through accepting Him as our Saviour.

I have an article that shares how to explain Resurrection Week to children.   It saddens me when I talk to children and they have no clue what Easter week is about.   Their eternity rests on them knowing what Jesus did for them and accepting Jesus as their way to get to Heaven!

Lastly, I have included a link for free, Resurrection Ecards to send to family and friends:)

I pray that this week is a special one for you as you reflect on the time that you put your faith and trust in Jesus and that the Lord will give you opportunities to share Him with others through an invite to church or a Passion Play.

Lord bless you and yours this week!

Devot. The Blood of Forgiveness and Cleansing

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a good weekend!

We are continuing our series on why the blood of Jesus is so crucial for the forgiveness of our sins,
how it cleanses us spiritually, and how it paid for our ticket to Heaven.
I shared Part 1 of this series from https://www.dayspring.com/ for Friday's devot,, "The Blood of Redemption."

Today I will share Part 2, "The Blood of Forgiveness and Cleansing."   Since I don't have permission to directly link you to the devot.

I will give you simple directions on how to find it.   For you folks who haven't read  "The Blood of Redemption," it can also be found on the same page as our devot. for today.

Lastly, since last Saturday was St. Patrick's Day, daypring.com sent a neat, short article on the man behind the holiday, who he really was.

It is an encouraging, inspiring read and I think if you can take the time to read it through your week, you will learn some neat facts about the real St. Patrick.

Lord bless you and yours this week!

I hope you had a great weekend!

The devot. for today is a really neat one.  It is a throwback to Tuesday's devot. and it's about Jesus' blood and how it spiritually cleanses us from our sin.

This devot. is a 4 part series and it looks wonderful-spiritually uplifting and an opportunity to learn a Biblical concept that  is crucial in Scripture.

I don't have permission to link you directly to the devot., so I will give easy directions below.

I pray you have a peaceful week!

Devot. Sin: Why We Need the Blood of Jesus

Hi Folks,

I hope you had  good weekend and are healthy and well!
As we move towards Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, I am going to share some devots. on the blood of Jesus, why His blood is so crucial to our faith, how it can forgive sin and clean us up spiritually.

1 John 1:6-7 says, "If we (those who have trusted Jesus) say that we have fellowship with him, (are having a daily walk with Jesus, making Him apart of our lives) and walk in darkness, (we are not living in a godly way, we are doing things that we know to be sin and hurting His heart) we lie, and do not the truth (we are deceiving ourselves if we say that we are walking with the Lord when we are not):   But if we walk in the light, (if we walk in Christ likeness) as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, (we have that daily communion with Jesus) and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

I pray the devot. below gives some added insight, Biblical knowledge on why Jesus' blood is precious, cleansing and powerful.   It is a crucial part to understanding why Jesus' death was so important in saving us.

The song below also strongly backs up this devot. and is apart of my church's Resurrection Sunday program:)

Lord bless you and yours this week!

Devot. 12 Lessons From Adversity

Hi Folks,

I hope you had a very blessed weekend!

Our devot. for this week is on the 12 lessons we can learn from trials and adversities.

What can God teach us and what can we learn from painful experiences in life?  We can learn and gain much spiritually if we are willing to ask God help us see things through His eyes.

I was thinking of 2 Peter 1:4-9 today in relation to what can be learned in trials, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature  (once we have received Christ, God gives us the ability, strength to live a Christ like life), having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.    And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; (morality) and to virtue knowledgeAnd to knowledge temperance; (self control) and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness (Christ likenes);   And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity  (Christian love).
For if these things be in you, and abound, (are alive and growing  you!) they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, (Spiritually) and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins (forgetting that your sins, past, present and future were forgiven by Jesus when you received Him as your Savior)."

Many times the trials we go through can produce "fruit" in our lives, a more Christ like way of living, but we have to be willing to learn as we go, willing to let the Lord use this trial in our lives to produce the character He would wish us to have.

I pray the devot. below is useful to your week and that you grow from it!

Lord bless you and yours!
