Devot. The New Birth
Dear Friends,
I hope you had a super week! The devot. today is on being spiritually born.
Just as a human is only birthed once, when we receive the Lord Jesus as our Saviour and way to Heaven, we are spiritually "re-born" and only have to receive Jesus in our lives once to be saved from an eternity in hell.
Example: Christ only had to die ONCE for the sins of all mankind. We only have to receive Him and what He did for us ONCE to go to Heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
God gives us a brand new slate to work off of when we become of His Kids, though faith in the Lord Jesus (Galatians 3:26). It's like we are "born again" to start brand new life!
The day you received Jesus is your Spiritual Birthday and just as special as your physical birthday, even more so because your eternity was settled the day you accepted Jesus!
I wanted to share this particular devot. with you is because today, Sept. 22nd, is my spiritual birthday! 17 years ago I received the Lord Jesus as my way to Heaven and received assurance from God's Word that the gift of salvation was permanent.
This was after years of doubting if I ever had received Jesus and where I would spend eternity.
The peace of God that came after accepting the free gift of salvation has never left me, as God's Word promises never will ( John 14:27, Philippians 4:7).
I pray that this devot. reminds you of the day you trusted Jesus as you way to Heaven!

Note: Paragraph 3 of the devot. says that a sign of a Christian is that we don't actively practice sin. I.E. You
don't continue to actively do things that you know are wrong and hurt God's heart. This doesn't mean that we never sin though, as we still have to fight sin in our lives and ask for the Lord's forgiveness on a daily basis).

Devot. Remembering God's Goodness
Dear Friends,
I hope you had a good weekend!
The devot. for today is on remembering how good God is to us. Psalm 107 says several times in its chapter, "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" Indeed!!
Lord bless you and yours this week!

All God's Creatures: Petition
Dear Readers,
I believe that God created all animals to bring Him glory and praise as Psalm 150:6 says, "Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD."
The below petition is to stop the slaughter of 44,ooo horses by an organization that has mismanaged land and it's occupants before. If you are an Animal Advocate as I am, please sign the petition below and feel free to copy this blog link and pass it along!
Sincerely, Grace

Devot. Remember
Dear Friends,
I hope you had a good weekend!
I couldn't let this week past without paying tribute and remembrance to the 9/11 families and all the heroes of this day. What I wrote came out of the burden I personally felt to remember and I wanted to share my thoughts.
For those of you who have lost a loved one, you know that anniversaries and the days leading up to them can bring back a flood of memories, some pain, renewed grief and yet joy when you remember your loved one.
I'm sure this is how the families of America feel as the nation remembers their lost loved ones.
The motto of that day was "Never Forget." While I'm not saying we should remember the horror of that day and watch clips of the Towers falling (it's painful, I'm sure most especially to the 9/11 families).
But I am saying we must remember the heroes of that day: the firefighters who rushed in the burning Trade Tower Buildings; civilians who helped the injured when they were hurt themselves; those who were injured in the attacks and still live with health challenges; the brave men and women who helped takeover the plane intended for DC, but crashed in PA in order that only their lives were lost, not countless others; the countless children who have bravely survived and grown up with the loss of a 9/11 parent;
These are America's heroes.
For a good many years our nation and it's citizens rallied around the flag, the anthem that is the symbol of the United States' independence, the heroes and families of 9/11.
Where has our support gone? Where is the remembrance and reverence of this day that changed America forever?
My heart is stirred and yet hurts and I think of the change. Would you join me this week in pledging to "Never Forget" America's heroes and to pray for the 9/11 families on the anniversary?
By forgetting, we cease to remember valuable lessons out country learned and the grace and healing God brought to our nation.
The devot. below is on Remembering. It brought tears to my eye when I found this specific one, as it hits the nail on the head.
I have also included a song that should be familiar to all. We are blessed to live in the USA, a land of the free because of the brave. God bless you and yours this week.

Devot. Milk or Meat
Dear Friends,
I hope you had a nice long weekend with family this past Labor Day weekend!
The devot. for today comes from a Bible verse, given in the devot. For folks who are new Christians, the term "Babes" or babies in Christ is used. For Christians who have trusted Christ years ago, but have spiritually matured, they are mature Christians.
The devot. here is explaining that as human babies can only drink milk (we don't expect them to eat a steak!), new Christians can only spiritually handle simple things from the Word of God.
But just as human babies mature and add in solid foods, new Christians should mature as well and learn to 'dig into' the "meat" of the Word of God and be learning more complex spiritual truths (we will learn in later devots. practical ways of how to go about that in truly Bible based ways).
I pray the devot. teaches you something new and yet I also encourage you ask yourself if you are still in the 'baby stages' of your everyday walk with Jesus or have you/are you maturing?
Also if you haven't had a chance to sign the petition calling for fellow Believer's Asia's release from death row and mandatory hanging, please do so this week!
Lord bless you and your this weekend! Petition and devot. below
